Each weekend, infectious rhythms and sounds emanate from the live music venues of Veracruz and Boca Del Rio, Mexico, home to an eclectic mix of go-to clubs that make up the playlist of a Veracruzana night. Follow the locals to navigate from Hotel Indigo Veracruz Boca del Rio to exactly where you’ll hear the best music in town — and learn a few new dance moves. Anyone want to join us for a copa check bounce?

Salsa the Night Away
Mojitos Night (Paseo José Martí 72) draws crowds ready to hit the dance floor at this temple of salsa — expect Spanish renditions of tunes made famous by Marc Anthony from a live brass band. It’s seemingly impossible to remain seated, as the sultry sounds bring out the salsero in locals and visitors alike. The dance party starts at 10 p.m. Thursday through Saturday nights.

Insider Tip: Time your visit with a set from exclusive house salsa band El Boom.

Dance to Top-40 Hits
For a completely different party experience, head to Love (Boulevard Ávila Camacho 1520), a dance club playing the latest hits by Beyonce, Ariana Grande and other divas. The disco is located on the ground floor of Plaza View, an upscale shopping center at the epicenter of nightlife in Boca Del Rio. Be prepared to dance the late night away: Love doesn’t opens its doors until 10:30 p.m. on Friday and Saturday, and the last straggler won’t leave until nearly 5:30 a.m. Read: Boca Del Rio knows how to party.

Insider Tip: Before you hit the floor, share a pitcher of the house drink, Baby Mango — a potent mix of rum, chamoy (a condiment made from pickled fruit) and mango nectar.

For Fans of EDM
If you prefer electronic dance music, the place to go is Rush Terraza Bar (Boulevard Ávila Camacho 1520), known for its slightly more chill vibe with multicolored strobe lights and seating areas. Open Thursday through Saturday from 10 p.m. until 4 a.m., the club offers both a sprawling dance floor to demonstrate your best moves and food service (think tortas and chicken wings) to keep the party going.

Insider Tip: Look for the countdown for limited-time bar promotions that appears on the club’s main screen.

If You Want to Rock
Meanwhile, from another floor of Plaza View, the familiar opening chords of “Satisfaction” come pouring out. The Rolling Stones classic is being performed by local band Móvil at Muse Pizza & Bar (Boulevard Ávila Camacho 1520). The live music venue is open Thursday through Saturday, starting at 6 p.m., and a mix of cover bands and original groups play through the night.

Insider Tip: Pizza, featuring a sauce made from “grandma’s recipe,” is served only from 8 p.m. to 2 a.m., so plan your appetite accordingly.
